Host to Newtons Historical Society annual celebratory party, this historic West Newton Hill house once lay in major disrepair.  Haphazard space planning and awkward additions left the property on the verge of being demolished. Fortunately, a patron to the home ensured that a full renovation and addition would right so many wrongs.  The redo allowed the house to respect its period, yet function with an eye towards modern living.  A strategically located family room addition creates a forecourt to the street and a private rear yard.  This room along with its adjacent kitchen and main stair, added energy in the middle of the house allowing it to become a hub for all circulation and activity.
