We expanded this home by adding a new two-car garage and mudroom, as well as a kids’ playroom above. The addition solves problems with this 19th-century home sitting seven feet above the ground with limited access to the rear yard. The stair hall/mudroom connector between the garage and existing house unifies the various levels and develops a strong connection to the yard.
