A limited site proved to be the backdrop for adding a new two car garage with guest suite above. In order to accomplish this the addition was pushed back and the existing house re-skinned to visually tie it all together. The garage received a shed roof to minimize it’s scale from the street side and add interest with the exposed rafter tails and metal standing seam roof. A glass door vestibule was used to create visual separation of the masses and allow for a transition both into the house and also to the adjacent deck on the opposite side.
